Great sci fi erotica.

A lot more risque than Ruth`s previous books but i thoroughly enjoyed it. Having been taken from Earth to serve as sex slaves but conditioned to enjoy it, Natalie is sold time and again to the highest bidder. She has no idea what has happened to her friends, if they`ve even survived. With no wish to return home can Natalie cope when this new life is changed again. Loved the characters especially Kyan. I received an ARC for an honest review

I liked the book and yet I didn't I loved the story at the end and the new storyline now with the premise established I think the next book will be better but I really wish this had been longer to continue the story of these two and the rescue of her friends

Another great at-home guitar course with Steve Krenz

This is a review of "Learn & Master Fingerstyle Guitar" with Steve Krenz.

This DVD-based training program is produced by the same folks (Legacy Learning) who publish the popular "Learn & Master Guitar" course. Both courses feature Steve Krenz. He is a very effective guitar teacher; he obviously has many years of experience teaching students of all ages, interests, and abilities. See the Legacy Learn & Master Guitar website for more details about their various courses.

With guitar lessons from a guitar teacher costing between 40 and 120 dollars per hour, this course is quite a bargain. Many years ago, I once spent a year with a guitar teacher going through Mel Bay Guitar Melody Chord Playing System. That year of instruction cost 1,500 dollars (not adjusting for inflation). While I felt the cost was worth it, I am very happy that much cheaper DVD courses are now available as an alternative.

"Fingerstyle" is a technique of playing the guitar by plucking the strings directly with the fingertips, fingernails, or picks attached to the fingers, as opposed to "flatpicking" which involves plucking the guitar strings with a single pick. When playing "fingerstyle," the thumb typically maintains a rhythm (usually playing alternating bass notes on the lower three strings) while the remaining fingers pick out the remaining chord notes (or a melody) on the higher strings.

"Learn & Master Fingerstyle Guitar" with Steve Krenz would probably be best for someone who is new to "fingerstyle" guitar. Even if you are not a beginner, you might benefit from this course; completing the lessons (including the "advanced workshops") could potentially fill in gaps in your prior education and experience. Also, if you are a guitar teacher, going through this course might give you ideas that could improve your instruction of this material. Actually, I am a little disappointed that they did not add three more lessons (DVDs) to this course to raise the level of instruction (and playing) just a little.

This is a thoroughly professional product: the training is well designed, the video and audio are outstanding. You don't need to know how to read sheet music to use this course.

This course is not for the absolute beginning guitarist; I suggest that you first finish any one of the following before starting this course:
(1) Six to twelve months of lessons with a guitar teacher
(2) At least lessons 1 through 10 of Gibson's Learn & Master Guitar
(3) Fender Presents Getting Started on Electric Guitar - DVD or Fender Presents Getting Started on Acoustic Guitar - DVD
(4) The Rock House Method: Learn Rock Guitar - Beginner Program

This course will work best if you can already play open chords and barre chords, with no hesitation between chord changes. Having said that, lots of folks have learned chords and fingerstyle simultaneously: it's challenging, maybe even aggravating, but it can be done.

The "Fingerstyle Guitar" course includes the following:
- 9 instructional DVDs
- 1 CD with a PDF file of the course booklet and MP3 files of the "jam-along" tracks
- Fingerstyle arrangements of over 20 songs
- Beginner and advanced workshops for each session
- "Lessons with the Masters" featuring Phil Keaggy, Thom Bresh, and Pierre Bensusan

The course does not come with a pre-printed course booklet. Instead, the 137 page course book is included as a PDF file on the included CD. You can either print out the whole booklet at once, or you can just print out the page(s) you are working on. The course also comes with "jam-along" tracks as MP3 files on the included CD. "Jam-along" tracks allow you to play the guitar parts over pre-recorded bass and drum tracks. I play such tracks through my guitar amp via an iPod. (I used an acoustic-electric guitar while going through this course.)

Here is an overview of the content:

Lesson 1: Fingerstyle technique; fingerstyle technique exercises; nails; fingerstyle guitar tips; fingerstyle resources - guitars.
Lesson 2: Adding notes; alternating bass notes; syncopation; metronomes.
Lesson 3: Intervals (3rds, 6ths, 10ths); working with intervals; strings.
Lesson 4: Arranging for fingerstyle; finding melody notes; "Danny Boy"; finding your own melody; footstools.
Lesson 5: Classical technique; Giuliani studies; hybrid classical picking; study in A minor; "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"; nylon strings.
Lesson 6: Slides; hammer-ons; pull-offs; creating open position runs; hammer on tricks; harmonics.
Lesson 7: Jazz chord families; adding color tones; adding a bass line; repeating diminished chords; fingerstyle resources - The Real Book.
Lesson 8: Pop fingerstyle; Merle Travis technique; advanced fingerstyle technique; pull-offs to open strings; capos.
Lesson 9: Lessons with the Masters - Phil Keaggy, Thom Bresh, Pierre Bensusan.

Lessons 1 through 8 are all followed by a "Beginning Workshop" and an "Advanced Workshop," which also include many song arrangements. The lessons are roughly 40 to 45 minutes in duration. Each workshop is roughly 30 minutes long. As with all DVD courses like this, it is great to be able to replay portions of the lessons and workshops as many times as necessary to master the material.

In summary, this is another excellent at-home guitar training program from Steve Krenz. It is ideal for the beginning guitarist who has at least learned basic chords. Intermediate and advanced players may also benefit from the course; but there may be some who feel that the course is too basic for them (i.e., they might end up disappointed that they spent their money on the course). I am glad I went through this course: it helped me to correct some bad habits, it taught me new theory and techniques, and it is helping me to regain some long-neglected skills. The "workshop" exercises from this course will now become part of my daily guitar workout.

For intermediate players who want to learn from a master, check out DVD-Jorma Kaukonen's Fingerpicking Guitar Method. For you young folks out there (who don't know what you missed), Jorma Kaukonen was the lead guitarist for the Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. While he is known to many as a rock guitarist, Jorma loves fingerpicking, and he is a great instructor.

Excellent Fingerstyle course.

Exellent addition to the basic Learn and Master course by Steve Krenz. He expands on the fingerstyle technique presented in the basic course. If you have already reached Lesson 10 (fingerstyle), you can start this course simultaneously to learn even more. Steve is an excellent teacher. His lessons also include finger strengthening exercises. He also plays other guitars (besides Gibson) in each lesson, picked to enhance the sound/style he is teaching. Very pleased with this purchase.

A comprehensive guide to a multitude of fingerpicking guitar styles.

This series really got me raring to go on playing fingerstyle guitar. There is so many different techniques available to use, and Steve Krenz is probably the best modern instructor of guitar out there. He has no pretense, and is super friendly in the videos so it makes for an enjoyable watch, like having a supportive, knowledgable teacher. I don't think I'd recommend it for brand new guitarists, but if your guitar chops are limited, you can still do very well with this series. It was through this series that I developed a deep love for classical style after that section in the videos, and here after a year or so I'm playing Bach and Beethoven when I used to play Dylan and Hendrix

A must-have for responsible keepers of donkeys, mules and hinnies

Although this book really needs an annual update, as do all veterinary and medical books, it is the only one of its kind and thus has to be recommended on these grounds alone. It is also eminently readable by the lay reader, but does not speak down to the professional. Most vets, vet nurses and grooms will need to refer to this book, or one like it ( if there is one) when dealing with donkeys or their hybrids, regardless of how much experience they have with horses. This book is an essential purchase for anyone who has dealings with donkeys.

Great illustrations helpful in developing a framework for learning medical embryology

As a first year med student coming from a non-bio background, embryology was a relatively foreign subject to me in the beginning of the year. I chose this book based on the many useful drawings which I think illustrate concepts well. The art style is consistent throughout the book -- which I like -- and because of the level of continuity, the illustrations and captions alone have been great for learning the basics. The text seems detailed enough to use as a reference as well but is likely to be overwhelming for review purposes. The paper quality is EXCELLENT, with thick glossy pages.

Impressions / comparisons to other highly-regarded resources:
- Langman's is packed with medically-relevant details while text is a lot more concise. Not as many pictures.
- Carlson's Human Embryology and Developmental Biology seems to place a greater emphasis on the biochemical basis of development, i.e. the factors / chemicals driving developmental changes.

A great improvement
By recent MD
This book is a vast improvement over the 3rd edition written mostly by Larsen and completed by others. It makes the study of embryology, well, not enjoyable, but at least painless. The authors have corrected previous editorial blunders like missing colors, but they didn't catch them all, like the missing heart outline in the last image of the systemic venous system. Other image improvements are the addition of more labeled components of images carried over from the 3rd edition; still not enough in some cases, though. Pointless images have been removed, mostly SEMs. The heart chapter has been completely rewritten, with diagrams that make a previously obscure exposition readable. Embryonic folding, always a tough read, has been split to the gastrointestinal, body cavity, and week 4 chapters, which makes more sense. Molecular and clinical information is spread throughout each chapter at appropriate places, instead of being lumped together at the end, and of course, it's all up to date (well, for 2008). There are several new well-written and illustrated chapters.

The book retains the reversed definitions of the aorticorenal and superior mesenteric ganglia, despite the fact that both are correctly labeled in the (identical) diagrams of the two editions. Supporting evidence that no one actually proofread this section is that, like the previous edition, "superior mesenteric ganglia" is not in bold font, as are the other two ganglia. This error would have been corrected were it not for the second most annoying practice of this publisher, which is their refusal to post errata for any textbook or to give readers a way to report errors to them. The preface to this edition has an email address for one of the authors whom I have advised of the ganglia error. (The most annoying practice is their gobbling up of a large fraction of screen real estate with their pretentious logo, titling, menus, buttons, and other nonsense, in the studentconsult online version of the book. And they are not interested in hearing from you about it. But all that is moot, because studentconsult is a complete farce, including animations which confuse more than elucidate.)

One may also wonder why, when editorial practice in recent years has been to replace eponymous nomenclature with functional terms, the authors chose to replace "paramesonephric duct" with "Müllerian duct". And they kept the word "anlage", which hasn't been spoken by man or beast in decades. In a short section of the Introduction entitled "Phases of Human Embryology", the word 'purpose' is used seven times. This is an affront to the scientifically enlightened (does not include most med students), because it promotes the notion of teleology, which, unless you're a member of the Flat Earth Society, is bullbleep. Subliminal messages, possibly unintended, inculcate incorrect notions in the naive reader, and can adversely affect clinical practice. I recommend that all words suggestive of teleology be excised for the next edition. For starters, replace 'purpose' with 'effect'.

All that aside, this is probably the best embryo book on the market for the serious medical student or resident. Those who only want to memorize answers for Step 1 should find something simpler, like a dime-thin USMLE review book that drills on answers with no pretense of teaching anything. Such comic book level reviews, however, will not even approximate in number the cornucopia of pathologies in Larsen's.

Ideal Embryology textbook

This is a great book. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to understand what is being explained. The graphics are great and helpful to visualize concepts and stages of development. It's paperback and light weight, which helps when you have to carry it around in a backpack. Good Info, Bad Spelling

This textbook has a lot of useful information, but it also has a lot of spelling errors and grammatical errors. I realize that this doesn't change the content, but I expect more from costly textbooks. The authors also do not seem to know the difference between sensitivity and specificity from a statistical standpoint, which is important when talking about diagnostic tests.
Aside from that, I like this text. It is very repetitive, which is great given the volume of information. This is a great resource to have.
(There is a free 4th edition online that a few of my classmates used instead of this)

Before I took my NPTE,I think I've read this book three times from cover to cover.It helped me a lot to get a good score on the differential diagnosis part of the exam. I think if one wants to pass the NPTE,this book is really helpful.I love it.Now it helped me realized that once you are on the workplace,you can encounter a lot of patients with a lot of different diagnoses so it is the PT's responsibility too,just like any other allied health professional to report some red flags ASAP.SO good!

Wonderful book. Has all 4 Dark Horse comics from Dethklok Vs the Goon to the three Metalocalypse ones. Even includes all the covers for each issue.

Sadly, doesn't not have anything extra, but it's still an excellent buy.

Funny, but confusing if you haven't watched the TV series

I got a copy of this graphic novel through NetGalley(dot)com. I am not sure why I decided to read it, it just looked interesting. I have never watched the Dethklok Adult Swim TV series that this graphic novel is based on, so that may be why I found some parts of the graphic novel confusing. The illustration is decent quality and the stories are pretty funny...if a bit confusing at times.

This graphic novel is a series of stories that follow around the heavy metal band Dethklok as they strive to bring about the Metalocalypse through various strange forms of promotion, advertising, and performance. This is definitely aimed at adults there is a lot of gore, sex, violence, drug usage, and swearing.

Each chapter tells a story about Dethklok and one of their adventures. For example the first chapter tells about Dethklok and their quest to start their own frozen food line. Each chapter ends in mayhem, violence, and the death of many. I have to admit a number of these chapters had me laughing out loud; granted they require a pretty dark sense of humor but they are funny and very over-the-top. They poke wonderful fun at both death metal and corporate America.

That being said there were some parts of the chapters that were just plan confusing. Maybe if I had watched the TV series beforehand I would understand what was going on better. When the clowns come into the story, I was like what the heck is going on? I think they are supposed to be drug-induced hallucinations or something, but they are never explained very well and don't add much to the story. I found myself skimming these parts of the story because they just didn't make sense to me.

The illustrations were pretty high quality, although a bit more cartoonish than I usually like. The artistic style fits nicely with the craziness of the storyline.

Overall while I found a couple of the chapters to be highly amusing, there were a lot of other parts of the story where I was just confused. The illustration is a little bit more cartoonish than I usually like, but it fit the tone of the stories well. I think fans of the TV series will really enjoy this graphic novel adaptation. People who are new to Dethklok, like me, will probably be a bit confused. This is definitely aimed at an adult audience and not for anyone who is squeamish, so just a heads up.

a gorgeously-bound, brutal graphic novel

This is a great collection of new Dethklok stories. One reviewer said it was confusing because she hadn't seen the show. Well, yeah, it's based on a show... go watch the show first.

She also said the art was too cartoonish. Umm, it's based on... a... cartoon.

Anyway, fans will love it. Something to tide you over until Brendon Small finishes season 5 of the show (please Brendon! One more season at least! Don't leave us hanging, man!). ;-}>

This book is a result of one of my infamous WTF dreams. I had to brain dump this disgusting piece of filth to keep my sanity. It is extreme, dark, edge erotica. Several types of BDSM and other sex play is explored. I have pushed the boundaries of morality and perversion so read at your own peril.As a small business consultant, entrepreneur coach, and corporate trainer, I normally publish self-help and business books; however, I have been writing poetry and erotic sci-fi for most of my life. This book is the first of those I have published and I do hope you enjoy it if you're into this type of thing.

Niquenya D. Fulbright is a life and relationship coach who writes a variety of titles across genres including self-help, poetry, romance, and erotic sci-fi. The majority of her works were created to help ordinary everyday people stretch their imaginations, think outside the box, and shake off social norms that prevent them from living a happy and authentic life.

If you're into this type of thing it's well written

Heads up: The book contains a lot of sex from beginning to end and deals with bestiality. Not my cup of tea but kudos to the author.

A Twisted Adult Read

What a fascinatingly twisted fiction short! This unique fiction short brims with all manners of sexual proclivity and depravity as it delves into various manner of sexual liaisons. With this book, author Niquenya D.Fulbright has tread fearlessly into the varied panoramas of debauched sexual scenarios, stimulation and satisfaction that many will fear to tread but may enjoy reading about. There were some minor editing issues but the overall work was a decent read. Definitely recommend this book as a very adult read, especially for those adult readers with the sexual proclivity to push boundaries.

Twisted so good...

This was an awesome twisted read. If you like off the wall weirdness involved sex, then this book is for you. My mindset in so many different ways. Leaning is a grade A freak and Mr. Weller just indulges her in every way.
