About the Author
I grew up on an organic farm in Italy and was home educated. Along the way I’ve worked for Sainsbury’s head office looking after the organic range of products as well as developing new products and packaging; for Roehampton University developing student entrepreneurs; done a Masters focused on creativity and worked as a business consultant on a government scheme for over six years offering mentoring, advice, training and grants to small businesses, mostly in the food sector. I now live in London with my husband, young son and toddler daughter, looking after the kids and writing. In 2016 I’ll be the Leverhulme Trust’s Writer in Residence at the British Library.

This book is fun and informative, if not a little scary in its descriptions of the ill effects of commuting. Having commuted for many years, I know realize the potential of time made available to me. Melissa has provided a number of easy changes I can make to enhance my life, just by using my commute more productively. Hurrah!

This is my favorite series!

I've loved every book in this series. This book is Ryan's story. I'm glad he got his own. I kind of liked him better than I did Adam so I was really excited. The star however is his 4 year old niece, Bridget. This story will make you laugh and you do not need to have read the previous books to start here. You will definitely understand the story line better if you've read the others but because Ryan is the main character, it's not necessary. Hope you enjoy!

If you rip, sew, string and pull hearts together wishes and love with flow. Secret North by G.J Walker-Smith bounds the second chance at love and happiness together. Bente leads a whizz, bang and pop of power of enchanting the No. 1 Bachelor of New York city, restaurant extraordinaire Ryan Décarie.

Ryan captures hearts, like cupid shoots an arrow through them. In the ever-brilliant fourth book in the series, Ryan and Bente are reacquainted in a striking tale of fairies, magic and love found again. I loved how G.J brought such magic to the characters. The tales of her work bring heart and life to pages of work that could be seen as letter to word on a page. Bente and Ryan’s relationship is one of heart and proficient broadening within Secret North.

The shed of tears, the earnest of love and the soul searching proof that if you believe, magic can change and lure you into so much more than written language strikes to why I loved Secret North. Adam, Charli and Bridget Décarie are seen within the novel creating an all-round home run of emotions spiraling and appeasing after finishing reading Secret North.

The power to effect a reader, is one that G.J has ample efficiency in providing. I loved Ryan and Bente’s Secret North as it was milled to show character. The narrative displayed how a man and women can love each other through all faults, up and downs and leave with pure magic. I rated Secret North a 5- Lit Love because unlike other books, I took my time reading Secret North. Why? Reason being is because the profound notion of a true tale of love and magic asked me to pay attention. As a kid we believe in magic, as an adult the lines blur and reading Secret North, helped me find magic again. As a reader, we fall in love with characters and narrative, I fell straight back into the magic of the Décarie’s and La La Land. Loving it to pieces, I would definitely recommend reading.

Perfectly done!

I read this book overnight because I just couldn't put it down! GJ Walker is a master storyteller & I had forgotten the magic she weaves throughout her tales. I really enjoyed the first three books in the Wishes series & I felt this fourth book just took it up a notch. We get to see Charli & Adam through Ryan & Bente's eyes and all of them are a bit more grown up, with baby Bridget now a precocious 4 year old. I won't spoil the story, but it just felt like a seamless continuation from the earlier books, which I really enjoyed. There is also a teaser at the end from the next book which I am dying to read! There really wasn't anything I disliked. Even though I hadn't reread the earlier novels before picking up this one, I was instantly transported back to NY and the fast paced lives of the Décarie's. The characters all behaved in ways I totally believed, nothing seemed forced or contrived as in other books I have recently struggled through. No, this was a breath of fresh air & I thoroughly recommend it to all who will listen :)

Excellent book! Completely changed my views about businesses & corporations.

I gave it 5 stars because of the way it was written which makes it easy for new entrepreneurs to understand and apply its principles. Now I know how risky it is to start a business as a sole proprietor or in a partnership. The author convinced me that in order to protect one's wealth, it is important to create a corporation. All in all, this book is the perfect complement to Robert Kiyosaki's book, Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Wealth of information

Garrett Sutton goes through all the reasons why doing business as a person is a bad idea. If you operate under your own name, you open yourself up to liabilities which can wipe you out financially and emotionally, often through no fault of your own (except for ignorance). You also pay much more in taxes than you should have, based on higher tax rates and less options for legitimate deductions.

He then goes on to describe the different forms of entities you can form to operate under, and clearly explains the pros and cons behind each one. Some are really no different than operating under your own name. Garrett labels these 'bad entities' and steers you clear of them. The remaining 'good entities' are explained, with many examples, so you can find one that fits your particular situation. There is no 'one size fits all', as the examples will make quite clear.

Asset protection, tax benefits, estate planning, succession planning, these are all covered in enough detail to be useful, but not so much that your eyes glaze over. This book is no replacement for an attorney's advice, or a CPA's, and Garrett is also very clear on this. It will, however, give you a leg up so when you do talk to your own advisor(s), they will not need to explain every little concept to you, and if you get billed by the hour, then this book will save you many hours.

Highly recommended, and a credit to the Rich Dad Advisor series.

This is a superb book! Sutton tells us everything we need to know to get started in clear and straightforward language. Because of this book, I decided to start Empress Cindy Books LLC to publish my books on Amazon.

If you're even thinking of starting a business, this is the book to read. And once you decide to start, I highly recommend the companion book, "Run Your Own Corpoation."

About the Author
Lawrence C. Bank, PE, PhD, is Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has over twenty years of experience in research, consulting, and education in FRP composites for construction. He is the founding editor and former editor in chief of the ASCE Journal of Composites for Construction and a Fellow of the ASCE and the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC) based in Hong Kong. He is a member of ACI Committee 440 (FRP Reinforcement) and of ASTM Committees D-20 (Plastics) and D-30 (Composite Materials). He has received the Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize, the Thomas Fitch Rowland Prize, and the Richard R. Torrens Award from ASCE for his work related to composites for construction.

Well-written informative book

I'm a mechanical engineering student who took a "Composites in Civil Engineering" course. The book was well-organized and seemed informative enough for the field. It has a decent/basic introduction to laminate-failure theories and the math/equations were easily followed. I docked a start because of a lack of answers/solutions for the questions at the ends of chapters.

One of the very few reference books on FRP composites for engineers. The derivation of properties from the lamina level to the full section was always a challenge for me (most practicing engineers don't deal with this). This book helps by providing great examples. Highly recommended.
